Description

Survey by RCHME of No 35-37 High Street. The building 'has been completely rebuilt except the cellar which is of the 14th century. In a rubble wall about 12ft S of the street frontage is an original doorway, with chamfered jambs, two-centred arch and moulded label; E of the doorway is a square-moulded bracket and W of it is a fireplace, probably of the 16th century, with chamfered jambs and a back built of alternative courses of brick and tiles; above the modern lintel is a square vent-hole. Condition-Good'.<1> (Now demolished)
