Description

A kiln was found (Kiln XXIV) when the foundations were cut on the Abbey Field for the NAAFI club. Its remains lie under the middle of the west side of the NAAFI. It was of oval plan with a central support running out from the back wall, built of rectangular blocks of clay. The flues on each side of it had been vaulted with rings of clay voussior blocks set about 2" apart.<1><2>
