Description

A pre-determinaton trial-trenched evaluation was undertaken by Archaeological Solutions in September 2017. Nine out of 21 proposed trenches were excavated, each 40m long x 1.80m wide (11 trenches could not be excavated due to ecological constraints). Shallow features were recorded in T1, T7 and T20. Small pits were recorded in Trenches 1 and 20. A gully (F1002) was recorded in Trench 7. Pit F1008 (T1) contained an 18th – 19th century pottery sherd, and small residual medieval (11th – 13th century) pottery sherds were found in Pit F1008 (T20) and Pit F1010 (T1).<1>
