Description

An archaeological trial trench, measuring 8.0m long x 1.80m wide, was excavated by Colchester Archaeological Trust in February 2020 at Homedale Farm, Dedham Road, Boxted, in advance of the construction of a new house. The trench was excavated through topsoil (L1, 0.23-0.26m thick) and subsoil (L2, 0.14-0.22m thick) onto natural (L3, orange sand), encountered at 0.52-0.63m below current ground level. No significant archaeological features were encountered.<1>
