Description
Colchester Archaeological Trust observed the groundworks for a new extension to the rear of the property in February 2020. An area measuring 11.4m² was reduced by 0.32-0.5m.
Two layers were recorded:n topsoil, 0.12m thick and an 'accumulation layer', described as 'a firm, moist dark grey/brown silt'. No archaeological features or material were encountered as excavations did not extend below modern layers.<1>
