Description

Hull notes 'On 28/11/1956 part of a red tessellated pavement was found in making the threshold of the entrance to a new shop-front on the west side of Queen Street. It was only one inch below the level of the modern pavement. So far as I could make out the building was part of the same house as that belonging to Mr Locke under which the decorated pavement was found. If not, then it was the next house to the north of it. The position of the discovery was a little north of the point opposite the junction-line of the two properties immediately south of the opening into the National Bus Company's yard.' <1><2>
