Description
Archaeological monitroing and recording was undertaken by Colchester Archaeological Trust in July 2019 during groundworks for a rear extension and garage (16.75m of foundation trenching, 0.55m wide x 0.63-0.7m deep). The trenching was excavated through modern turf (L1, c.0.14m), topsoil (L2, c.0.17m thick) and subsoil (L3, c.0.3m thick) onto natural (L4, light/medium orange clay). No archaeological features or finds were encountered.<1>
