Archaeological monitoring and recording was undertaken by Colchester Archaeological Trust in July 2019 during groundworks for a new extension, associated drainage and soakaway. Excavations revealed topsoil (L1, c.0.36-0.46m thick) onto natural (L2, dark orange sand). A single 20th-century pit F1 was exposed by the groundworks, 1.49m wide x 0.61m deep (although its full dimensions could not be determined).<1>
