Description

A note in the Colchester paper SMR reads, 'Sid Gant reports that when Mr Rowles had a garage at the bottom of East Hill, when they put in a petrol tank they cut through a Roman pavement (decorated) which they kept quite about. The pavement was 5ft down'. There is a sketch plan with the note.<1>
