Archaeological monitoring and recording was undertaken by Colchester Archaeological Trust in August 2019 during groundworks for a new extension (excavation of c.9.7m of foundation trenching). The trenching was excavated through modern concrete (L1, c.0.10m thick), topsoil (L2, c.0.34-0.39m thick) and subsoil (L3, c.0.25m thick) into natural (L4, medium orange/red/brown silty-sand), encountered at a depth of c.0.70m below current ground level. No archaeological features or finds were defined.<1>
