Description
An archaeological evaluation, comprising two trenches, was undertaken by Colchester Archaeological Trust in January 201 at Roundwood, 48 Lexden Road, West Bergholt, prior to the construction of two new dwellings with garages. Trench 1 (T1) was 8m long x 1.8m wide; T2 was 10m long x 1.8m wide. The trenches were excavated through topsoil (L1, c.0.07-0.13m thick) into natural (L2, silty-clay). No archaeological remains were encountered.<1>
