Description
Archaeological monitoring and recording was undertaken by Colchester Archaeological Trust in August 2019 during groundworks (a foundation trench c.0.4m wide x 1m deep) for a new conservatory (and associated soakaway). Two layers were identified - a made ground (L1, c.0.8m thick) and the natural geology (L2, c.0.2m thick, light/medium yellow-orange sand). No archaeological remains were encountered; post-medieval pottery, coal and CBM were found in the made ground.<1>
