Description
Archaeological monitoring and recording was undertaken in July 2018 during groundworks for a new rear/side extension, comprising c.11.5m of foundation trenching, measuring 0.5m wide x 0.85m deep, as well as a small manhole to the rear of the house. Groundworks occurred through three layers. Modern topsoil (L1, c.0.15m thick) overlay subsoil (L2, c.0.5m thick) which in turn sealed natural (L3). No archaeological remains were encountered.<1>
