Description

A trial-trenched evaluation was undertaken by L-P Archaeology in May 2018, following a desk-based assessment (ECC4239) and geophysical survey (ECC4180).<1> Four trial trenches were excavated, each 30.0m long x 1.8m wide. In general, topsoil, c.0.15-0.35m deep, was defined over sandy clay subsoil, c.0.3-0.6m thick, sealing sandy clay natural. No archaeological features were encountered in any of the trenches.
