Description
Archaeological monitoring and recording was undertaken during a new residential on New Farm Road, Stanway, between October 1998 and January 1999 (CBC planning application COL/98/0706). A large undated ditch-like feature, c.3.75m wide and aligned E to W, was defined in the eastern part of the site; it is probably a post-medieval boundary shown on the late 19th century OS 1:2500 County Series. The south western part of the site contained dumped modern rubbish to a depth of 2.6m.<1>
