Description
An archaeological excavation, c.1.4ha. in area, was undertaken by Archaeological Solutions at Fingringhoe Quarry in 2010. The investigation revealed one undated grave cut (F5066 - no bone survived and no finds were present) and two undated cremations (F5049 and F5071). The excavation also defined late Iron Age (Phase 1) ditches, pits and tree hollows, several Roman (Phase 2) ditches and pits and also undated ditches and pits.<1>
