Description

Archaeological monitoring and recording was undertaken during the excavation of a small pit for an interpretation panel (about Sheepen) at the base (north end) of Balkerne Hill. The area excavated to accommodate the concrete base of the panel measured 0.5m x 0.5m, and 0.65m deep and defined modern layers of topsoil, backfill and sand.<2>
