Description

Archaeological monitoring and recording was undertaken by Colchester Archaeological Trust in August 2018 during the groundworks for a new dwelling and associated works (soakaway). The foundation trenching measured c.56m in length x 0.6m in width x 1.1m in depth, through topsoil L1 (c.0.25m thick) and subsoil L2 (0.25m thick) onto Natural L3, described as yellow/orange sandy-clay, encountered at c.0.5m below ground level. There were no archaeological features or finds from the project.<1>
