Description

A trial-trenched evaluation (four trenches) was carried out by Colchester Archaeological Trust in August 2017 in advance of the construction of a new junior wing of c.610m², extension to the kitchen, a further 20 car parking spaces and approximately 500m² hard play area (ECC planning application CC/COL/33/17). The evaluation revealed two undated pits (F1, 0.98 wide x 0.1m deep, in T2 and F3, 2.11m wide x 0.46m deep, in T3A) and an undated ditch (terminus) F2 (in T1), 0.76m wide x 0.28m deep.<1>
