Description

A magnetometer survey (fluxgate gradiometer) was conducted by Sumo Surveys in August and September 2017 over c.8ha on land to the north of Halstead Road, Eight Ash Green, in order to inform a planning application for residential devepment.<1> No anomalies of archaeological interest were identified by the survey. Most of the detected responses were ferrous in nature, relating to buried pipes, adjacent boundaries and scattered debris. A few very weak trends and isolated pit-type anomalies formed no clear patterns and these were thought to be natural, agricultural or modern in origin.
