Description
Archaeological monitoring and recording was carried out during the excavations for a new interpretation panel along Balkerne Hill. The area excavated for the concrete base of the panel measured 0.6m x 1.2m in area x 0.15m deep and 0.3m x 0.5m in area x 0.7m deep for the column, dug through modern layers of topsoil, backfill and sand. No significant archaeological remains were uncovered.<1>
