Description

Archaeological monitoring and recording was undertaken by Colchester Archaeological Trust in August 2017 during groundworks for a glass house at Beech House, Brook Street, Dedham (CBC planning application 170970). A foundation trench, c.27m long x 0.5m wide x 0.52m deep, was excavated under archaeological supervision in the garden of the property. The foundation trench was excavated through modern topsoil (L1, c.0.4m thick) onto a layer of subsoil (L2). No archaeological remains were defined.<1>
