Description

Archaeological monitoring and recording was carried out in April 2017 during groundworks for a rear extension (CBC planning application 162428). A total 6m of 500mm wide foundation trench were excavated following the lifting of patio slabs. The exposed deposit profile comprised 1.2m of clean mid brown sandy subsoil over the locally occurring natural glaciofluvial deposit (dark orange sand with small flints). No archaeological features or finds were discovered.<1>
