Description

Design and Access statement, incorporating a heritage assessment and building survey, of a redundant agricultural/railway building on Tudwick Road, Tiptree, compiled to support a 2017 planning application (CBC application 170376) for conversion. The small structure appears on the 1920 OS plan of the area, in conjunction with (and alongside) a railway siding and loading platform (for loading and shipment of fruit) which ran alongside the Tudwick Road and connecting to the Kelveden and Tollesbury Light Railway. The building is rectangular in plan, 6.5 x 4.7m in area, two stories, with fletton brick walls, external cement render and low-pitched, galvanised sheet roof.<1>
