Description

A magnetometer survey was undertaken by Stratascan (commissioned by Chris Butler Archaeological Services) in December 2016 across an area of c.3ha., part of a pre-determination evaluation relating to CBC application 162442 for an extension to holiday park. The survey defined a number of anomalies characterised as being of probable archaeological origin, and (some) corresponding to cropmarks visible on aerial photography.<1> These were subsequently tested by trial-trenched evaluation in February/March 2017 (ECC3954).<2>
