Description

A magnetometry survey was conducted by Stratascan in August 2016 over approximately 1.9 hectares of farmland to the west of Hall Road, Copford, prior to the submission of a planning application for residential development. A sub-circular anomaly was defined, possibly archaeological in origin although a natural explanation could not be ruled out. The remaining features were modern and included a land drain, magnetic disturbance from substantial nearby ferrous metal objects, and magnetic spikes which were likely to be modern rubbish.<1>
