Description

In 1998, a timber-framed 17th century building at 176 Magdelen Street was demolished. When the site was cleared, a wall of septaria blocks was recorded, which predates the 17th century building. A small copper alloy coin weight was found close to the wall, marked with the symbol of Henry VIII.<1>
