Description

Dendrochronological dating of this building complex was attempted by Martin Bridge in 2003, to inform a programme of detailed recording during repairs to the building. The lack of rings in the majority of timbers (19 timbers were sampled), however, precluded dendro dating. Only one phase, thought to be of 17th century origin, yielded a site chronology, but only of 63 years and this did not date.<1>
