Archaeological monitoring and recording was undertaken by Colchester Archaeological Trust during the groundworks (trenches measuring 6.2m long x 0.6m wide x 1.2m deep) for a rear extension (CBC application 152230). No archaeological features or finds were defined. A large modern feature (F1), probably a pit, was identified sealed beneath subsoil/made ground L2. Natural orange/brown sand (L4) was identified at a depth 1.2m below current ground level.<1>
