Description

22 trenches were excavated by Colchester Archaeological Trust across four areas of the site (1.5% sample of the 10 acre site).<1> In Area 1, relatively late linear features were noted in trenches 1/F and 1/G. A prehistoric flint flake was recovered from ploughsoil in trench 1/L. In Area 2, two interruptions were recorded: a small pit in trench 2/B and a field ditch with modern fill in trench 2/D. A prehistoric flint scraper, recovered from the cover loam in trench 3/B, Area 3. No features or finds were defined in Area 4.
