Description
A trial-trenched evaluation was carried out at the Blackwater Hotel, Church Road, West Mersea, prior to the redevelopment of the site (CBC planning application F/COL/02/0725). Three trenches were excavated within the site. Trenches 1-3 were each 1.5m wide and totalled 20m in length (8m, 4m and 8m long respectively). No archaeological remains were observed.<1>
