Description
Foundation trenches for two new houses and two garage blocks were inspected at intervals by Colchester Archaeological Trust between September 1999 and February 2000. No archaeological features were observed. The western side of a filled-in pond was recorded in the foundation trenches for a house plot at the south-west corner of the site, 50m from the street frontage. Another house, at the south-east corner of the site, was built on piled foundations (not inspected) due to the presence of the pond infill. <1>
