Description

A programme of level 3 historic building recording was carried out by Colchester Archaeological Trust at Cannock Mill, Colchester in February 2016 in advance of residential conversion (CBC planning application 150492). Cannock Mill is a Grade II listed building (NHLE no. 1337742) built in 1845 on the site of a medieval mill of the same name. was rebuilt as an overshot mill fed by three iron pipes from an embanked pond. After World War II it was turned into a store for Cramphorns and the wheel and most of the internal machinery, fixtures and fittings were removed in the 1960s.<1>
