Description
A watching brief on trenches dug for the installation of lighting around the Colchester Garrison athletics track revealed post-medieval and modern dumped soils.<1>
The watching brief was carried out during the contractor's excavation of 18 trenches to hold the bases of lighting columns around the track (numbered T1-T15), three trenches to hold a separate set of lighting columns around the grandstand (T17-T19), and a cable trench to connect T17, T18 and T19 (T16-T20).
