Description
A systematic fieldwalking survey was carried out on an area 5.2ha in size, on land scheduled for mineral extraction, by Colchester Archaeological Trust in October 1997. <1>
A small quantity of Roman tile and brick was recovered. Prehistoric activity was represented by a single struck flint flake of possible Bronze Age or Neolithic date.
Phases 2 and 3, to the south, were carried out in April 1998. <2>
