Description

On 14 March 1923, during the digging of a hole for rubbish, a large and nearly complete decorated pavement was found. It was 19ft square, including the red surround, and was 3ft 9", below the surface. Lying obliquely across the pavement at the extreme NW corner lay a skeleton believed to be that of a youngish woman. The pavement was removed to the Museum (COLEM 1924.4753). <1><2><3> See also photograph in City of Victory <4>
