Description

While levelling the meadow in February 1907 for the bowling-green, a large piece of red tessellated pavement was found and, near by, a smaller piece of coloured mosaic of geometric design. They were to have been incorporated in the pavement of a pavilion, but it appeared that one piece only was built into the wall dividing East Hill House from the Minories. <1><2><3><4>
