Description
Foundation trenches for two house plots and a garage block were inspected. The trenches were generally 0.6m wide x 1m deep. The overall site stratigraphy consisted of approximately 20cm of topsoil (largely stripped) above 30 to 40 cm pale greyish brown silty clay loam subsoil which in turn rested on natural gravelly sand. The only discernible intrusive features in the smeared sections were modern service trenches and light concrete
foundations. <1>
