Description

In June 1922 some digging was done in the garden of St Mary's Cottage by Mr May, of which P.G.Laver took notes and a sketch plan. The NW angle of a building was found, said to be some 30ft from the town wall'. But the sketch-plan shows this distance as about 60ft. The sketch plan shows two pavements; one against the north wall of the garden (said to have been removed to the museum) and another immediately west of the projection on the SW face of the house, and is said to be similar to the other and still there.<1><2>
