Description
An historic building assessment was undertaken by Ingram Consultancy Ltd in advance of a planning application and redevelopment of Severalls Hospital, Colchester, in March 2001 (application O/COL/01/1624).
Severalls Asylum Hospital opened in 1913, designed by county architect Frank Whitmore and William Henry Town. As a group the hospital complex is an important and intact survivial of local and national significance.
