Description

Wall spotted in sewer trench along Culver Street, between No's 55 and 53. The top was 6ft below the surface and the wall was 2ft 8" thick, standing 1ft high, crossing the trench N-S. It stood on a layer of clay 18" thick and 12ft wide. A second piece of walling was revealed in the south side of the trench running E-W for 6ft 6", the face damaged, situated between the party wall of No's 67 and 66 Culver Street. A band of brown clay was found east of the rainwater pipe between No's 65 and 63. Another piece of wall was found opposite the entrance to Lissimore's Yard, 6ft from the building-line and 2ft by 2ft the west face broken by a former branch sewer.<1><2>
