Description

Henry Laver noted that excavations for a new drain the whole length of the east side of All Saints Churchyard...found at about two feet from the surface a layer of white content...and beneath this a mass of red burnt earth, intermixed with fragments of Roman roof tiles and numerous bricks. <1>
