Description
A resistivity survey was carried out in advance of excavation in order to attempt to find the terminus surrounding the Temple complex, the discovery of such a wall was originally reported by Hull. Survey squares were set out along the suspected line of the wall, both on the north side of the Temple and on the east side, adjacent to Oliver’s Lane.
The results of the survey were disappointing however, perhaps due to the fact that most of the wall may have been robbed out in antiquity. Also possible is that the survey was not able to accurately target the area of the wall, suggesting that the target site should be plotted as accurately as possible in advance of the survey work. <1><2>
