Description

The Ground Probing Radar was used in April 2000 to investigate the ‘black blob’ near the eastern entrance of the Temple at Gosbecks, which had been apparent on the magnetic plots since 1995. Two survey areas for the radar were set up just north of the celle. The radar model used was GV1 from Utsi Electronics, Ely. The recovered data was processed and displayed by Dr Tim Dennis. The results from the survey confirmed the magnetometer result; that a rectangular anomaly exists in the position suspected. The depth of the feature is likely to be 1.25m. Another anomaly was detected, higher up and slightly to the east of the rectangular feature, at a depth of 0.74m. <1><2>
