Description

Five evaluation trenches (between 5-30m in length x 1.5m wide) were dug at the site of the Sixth Form College, North Hill, Colchester, in preparation for the design of a new IT building. The majority of the archaeological features recorded were of Roman date, and included tessellated and mortar floors as well as the robbed-out foundations of a Roman town house. <1>
