Description
Five trial-trenches were excavated at the Salisbury Hotel, Butt Road, relating to a planning application for residential development with basement parking (CBC planning application F/COL/03/2199). Five 1.4m-wide trial-trenches were excavated, 4.5 to 9m long. No archaeological features were recorded during the evaluation. This may be due to previous soil-stripping which was in evidence within the trenches. <1>
