Description

During January and February 1929 some notable Elizabethan work - carvings, wall paintings and panelling- came to light at 24 High Street. A carved relief had a merchants mark and the date 1597. An Oak balustrade of similar date was photographed and also a painted balustrade on the wall imitating the actual stair rail.<1>
