Description

On 2nd January 1924 during extensive repairs to 24 North Hill two oak doorways in a perfect state of preservation and of early 16th century date, were exposed on the north side of the house in the passage that separates it from the Marquis of Granby Inn. The doorways were left in situ, they adjoin each other and have four centred heads and spandrels carved with conventional foliage. The limbs and jambs are moulded.<1>
