An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the digging of foundations for a new building and car park at the Territorial Army centre. One fragment of Roman tile and one piece of greyware pottery were the only finds. The investigation produced negative results partly due to disturbance of the ground by Victorian buildings and partly to the fact that archaeological levels were not reached.<1>
