Description

A trial trench, 4.4m long x 0.5m wide, was excavated by hand in the south-west corner of the garden of Tymperleys House, Trinity Street. It was dug to 80cm and revealed only topsoil deposits, probably 19th century or later date. Residual Roman material was recovered.<1> This work followed a similar trial trench in 1999. <2>
